Teardrop Wrap Ring Jewelry Making Class in Albuquerque: Creating a Ring with Movement and Intention

Our Teardrop Wrap Ring jewelry making class in Albuquerque invited students to transform sterling silver wire into a sculptural gemstone ring through shaping, soldering, bezel setting, and finishing techniques. Each maker explored the foundations of silversmithing while creating a piece that reflected their own style and creativity.

The Teardrop Wrap Ring is designed with movement in mind. Its flowing curves wrap comfortably around the finger, creating a bold yet wearable piece where the gemstones become part of the design itself. The result is a ring that feels modern, expressive, and uniquely personal.

Students began with sterling silver wire and learned how to shape, adjust, and form the metal into their own custom-fit rings. As the designs developed, each maker discovered how small details and careful craftsmanship could transform simple materials into something meaningful.

Throughout the class, students practiced essential silversmithing techniques including forming, soldering, texturing, oxidizing, polishing, and bezel setting. From choosing their gemstones to securing each stone in place, every decision added character to the finished piece.

With stones like turquoise, carnelian, coral, and black onyx, each Teardrop Wrap Ring took on its own personality. No two rings were alike, and every finished piece carried the creativity and choices of the person who made it.

By the end of the workshop, students left with a one-of-a-kind ring crafted by hand and a deeper appreciation for the process behind handmade jewelry. The Teardrop Wrap Ring is more than a statement piece, it is a reminder that learning new skills and exploring personal design can create something truly meaningful.
