A Day of Making and Meaning: Capturing Spring in Metal and Bloom

On April 19, our Make It at Meltdown Earth Day Earrings class came to life through creativity, color, and connection. Surrounded by tools, textures, and inspiration, students spent the day crafting earrings that reflected both the season and their own personal style.

From the very beginning, the process felt intentional. Students selected pressed flowers to place behind their cabochons, each choice guided by color, shape, and meaning. Some leaned toward soft, delicate tones, while others chose bold, vibrant petals; each pair becoming a small, wearable expression of spring.

As the class unfolded, the studio filled with focus and quiet excitement. Workbenches became spaces of experimentation, where metal took shape and designs slowly came together. The finished pieces, ranging from subtle and minimal to more expressive forms, highlighted just how unique each creative path can be.

Seeing the earrings worn at the end of the session made it even more special. Each pair carried not just design, but a moment of time, preserved in metal and bloom.

This class was more than just a workshop. It was a reminder of how meaningful it is to create by hand, to slow down, and to take inspiration from the natural world around us.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and brought such thoughtful energy into the studio.
