Framed Turquoise Necklace, Petite Edition: A Jewelry-Making Class in Albuquerque
On September 19 and 20, two different groups joined us for the Framed Turquoise Necklace, Petite Edition class. Working with genuine turquoise and sterling silver, students practiced stamping, bezel making, soldering, stone setting, oxidizing, and polishing while creating their own wearable necklaces.
A Creative Day at the Bench
The class photos capture students concentrating on their projects, working with small components, and enjoying the hands-on process. Some focused closely on their tools, while others paused to examine their progress or share their finished pieces.

From Turquoise Stones to Personal Designs
Students began by selecting genuine turquoise cabochons, each with its own color, pattern, and shape. They then worked with sterling silver to frame their stones and add stamped details.
Although both groups followed the same project, individual choices in stone selection, stamping, and finishing gave each necklace its own character. The petite design was versatile enough to wear every day, either on its own or layered with other jewelry.
