From Raw Silver to Spin: Shared Twice at the Bench
Some classes fill once. This one filled twice, and we felt gratitude in every seat around the bench.
With two full sections of our Spinner Ring class, the studio carried a steady hum of focus and creativity. There is something special about watching a room full of makers begin with simple strips of sterling silver, unsure hands slowly becoming confident as the day unfolds.
Spinner rings are deceptively intricate. What begins as flat silver is carefully measured, formed, soldered, and textured. Torches flicker. Hammers strike in gentle rhythm. The outer band takes shape, and slowly, thoughtfully, each ring finds its own personality. Some bold and richly textured. Others are quiet and sculptural. All entirely personal.
In both sections, you could see it happen, that small shift from concentration to pride. Beginners discovered new skills they didn’t know they had. Returning students refined their touch, exploring movement and balance in fresh ways.
By the end of each day, the moment we love most arrived. Rings slipped onto fingers. A gentle spin. A smile. That grounding, tactile turn that carries the memory of heat, patience, and care.
Hosting this class twice reminded us why we do what we do. It is not just about shaping silver. It is about sharing space, building confidence, and leaving with something made by your own hands.
Watching you walk out wearing what began as raw silver never gets old.
