Ringing in Radiance: Inside the Gemstone Meridian Ring Class at Meltdown
If you’ve ever dreamed of making your own fine jewelry—something luminous, layered, and uniquely yours—our recent Gemstone Meridian Ring class at Meltdown Studio was exactly that.
This “Make it at Meltdown” workshop introduced students to one of our most rewarding and technically exciting designs yet: a bold sterling silver ring featuring a faceted stone and two vibrant cabochons.
A Balancing Act of Beauty
The Gemstone Meridian Ring isn’t your typical project. With three stones across the band—one faceted for sparkle and two smooth cabochons—it invites creativity, challenges your soldering skills, and teaches how to balance color, shape, and layout. The goal wasn’t to follow a template, but to create something deeply personal.
And everyone did.
Each student’s ring turned out beautifully—totally unique and full of character. Some leaned into minimal elegance, others embraced bold shapes and bright color. Watching these designs come together was truly inspiring.
A Studio Full of Spark
This was one of those classes where the energy was just right—focused but fun. Torches hissed, saw blades hummed, and there was that unmistakable sound of people figuring things out and getting excited about what they were making.
Most students had never attempted a piece like this before, and yet they absolutely nailed it. There were plenty of questions, a few "hold-your-breath" moments, and lots of quiet pride as those rings took shape. Everyone supported one another and shared in the little wins throughout the day.
Come Make Something With Us
There’s something incredibly empowering about making your own jewelry—choosing your stones, learning the tools, getting your hands dirty, and leaving with a finished piece you’ll actually wear. Our studio is here for that. We create classes that meet you where you are, whether you’re just beginning or already hooked on the process.
If this class sounds like something you’d love, we’d love to have you in the next one. Bring a friend, make a day of it, and come learn something new. Every session is different, and every piece is yours alone.
Check the schedule to see what’s coming up. Spots fill fast, and we can't wait to see what you’ll create.
