Our turquoise multi-stone ring jewelry making class in Albuquerque brought two different groups into Meltdown Studio for hands-on experience in bezel-making, soldering, oxidation, polishing, and stone setting. Each student created a finished sterling silver ring featuring turquoise and faceted gemstones while learning foundational silversmithing skills.
Last weekend at Meltdown felt like two little worlds built around the same idea.
On Saturday and Sunday, two groups took the same class and created completely different results. From the start, the table of turquoise and faceted stones set the tone. Some students leaned bold with contrast, others kept things soft and tonal.
As the day moved forward, rings began to take shape. Bands were formed, bezels carefully built, and stones set one by one. By the end, each piece felt solid, personal, and ready to wear.
