"Make it at Meltdown" Desert Tennis Bracelet
Friday, April 10 ((10:00am-3:00pm))
or
Saturday, April 11 (10:00am-3:00pm))
We’re excited to offer this special “Make it at Meltdown” class, a fresh take on a classic jewelry staple.
Join us for a focused and rewarding studio day as you create the Desert Tennis Bracelet, our Southwest interpretation of the traditional tennis bracelet. Instead of diamonds, this design features individually set turquoise, carnelian, or black onyx, each framed by hand-stamped silver details and linked together in a fluid, wearable chain.
The result is substantial yet comfortable, bold yet refined. It carries the rhythm and movement of a classic tennis bracelet, but with the texture, depth, and character of handmade Southwest metalsmithing.
Why we’re excited about this class: ✨
This bracelet is packed with thoughtful construction and technique. You’ll practice stamping and surface texture, refine small stone setting skills, and learn a beautiful method of linking components that creates movement while maintaining strength. It’s intricate yet wearable, and deeply satisfying to build.
Techniques we will cover:
• Stamping and surface texture
• Precision soldering for multi-component work
• Small stone setting
• Creating and assembling linked components
• Finishing and polishing
Materials we will use:
• Sterling silver
• Genuine turquoise, carnelian, or black onyx
What to expect:
• All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided
• You’ll choose your stone color from a curated selection at the start of class
• This class moves at a steady, focused pace with individual guidance
• Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing; long hair should be tied back
• Light snacks and drinks are welcome during breaks
• You’ll leave with one fully finished Desert “Tennis” Bracelet
+++This is an intermediate level class. If you’ve been ready to expand your skills into multi-component jewelry and more complex assembly, this is a perfect next step.
This class offers lasting value, both in the techniques you’ll practice and in a bracelet designed to be worn often and kept for years to come.
