Saturday, August 15 ((10:00am-3:00pm))
Create a bold gemstone cuff with color, structure, and serious presence.
In this Make It at Meltdown class, you’ll build your own Gemstone Shield Cuff, featuring sterling silver, ((bronze border if you choose)), and a vibrant mix of stones. The design has a strong sculptural shape, with layered metal, darkened recesses, bright polished edges, and stones that bring the whole piece to life.
This is a cuff that feels substantial without being hard to wear. It has color, contrast, texture, and personality, with enough room for each student’s piece to feel different.
Why we love this class ✨
This class is exciting because it brings together so many satisfying jewelry elements in one finished piece: forming, soldering, stone setting, polishing, color, and composition. The shield shape gives the bracelet strength, while the gemstones make it personal and vibrant.
You’ll make a piece that looks and feels like real jewelry, not a practice project.
Techniques we’ll cover
Forming a cuff bracelet
Cutting and shaping metal
Soldering layered components
Bezel making
Stone layout and composition
Oxidizing
Polishing
Stone setting
Materials we’ll use
Sterling silver, copper, and assorted gemstones. Stone options may vary.
What to expect
This is a hands-on, technique-rich class with step-by-step instruction and support throughout the day. You’ll work through the main stages of building the cuff, from forming the metal to setting the stones and refining the finish.
You’ll leave with a finished gemstone cuff bracelet made by you.
