Introduction to Lost Wax Casting
November 8 + 9 (Saturday + Sunday, 10:00am–4:00pm)
Step into the world of one of the most captivating jewelry-making methods: lost wax casting. This ancient technique has been used for thousands of years to transform delicate wax carvings into enduring works of art in metal.
Over two immersive days, you’ll learn every step of the process:
Carving your own original wax models
Preparing a casting “tree” and investing it in investment
Burning out the wax and preparing the mold
Melting and pouring molten metal the vacuum casting method
Cleaning, finishing, and polishing your castings
It’s also the perfect opportunity to melt down your scrap silver or old jewelry pieces and give them a brand new life.
By the end of the weekend, you’ll have created several one-of-a-kind pieces of your own design, and gained the knowledge to carry these skills forward in your jewelry practice.
Whether you’re brand new to jewelry-making or looking to expand your skills, this workshop offers a rare chance to experience the magic of watching your ideas come to life in metal.
