Step into one of the most fascinating processes in jewelry making: lost wax casting.
In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn how a carved wax model becomes a finished piece of jewelry in metal. We’ll move through the full process together, from designing and carving your own wax forms to preparing the casting setup, burning out the wax, pouring molten metal, and finishing your castings.
This is also a beautiful opportunity to melt down scrap silver or old jewelry pieces and give them a new life. We’ll take time to look over any pieces you bring and determine whether they are appropriate for casting.

Wax, investment, ancient bronze, casting tools, and studio finishing materials. Students may bring scrap silver or old sterling silver jewelry to melt down, if appropriate for casting.
What to expect
This is a two-day, hands-on workshop with a full process from wax to finished metal. You’ll create several one-of-a-kind pieces of your own design and gain a clear understanding of how lost wax casting works.
