Each spring, we bring back this special “Make it at Meltdown” class as a way to celebrate the season of renewal.
Join us as we create the Botanical Amulet, a small sterling silver pendant designed to hold something precious. An amulet is traditionally worn as a protective charm or a symbol of good fortune. In this class, you’ll transform your most treasured botanical or organic keepsakes into a beautiful, personalized pendant to wear and cherish.
The contents of your amulet add to its depth and meaning. Whether it’s vibrant flower petals, intricate leaves, soothing herbs, essential oils, or a small organic object that holds memory for you, this piece becomes both adornment and story. These amulets are a special way to carry a cherished moment, create your own subtle aromatherapy experience, or simply enjoy a meaningful, custom piece of jewelry.
The removable top design allows you to change the contents whenever you’d like, making this pendant both versatile and lasting.

Techniques we will cover:
• Texturing
• Stamping
• Bezel making
• Soldering
• Oxidation
• Polishing
• Stone setting
Materials we will use:
• Sterling silver
• Glass vile amulet
• Choose from an assortment of genuine gemstones.
Organic specimens such as flower petals, leaves, herbs, essential oils, or any meaningful materials you choose. Bring your amulet contents with you and we’ll also have a selection available in the studio. You may also fabricate your amulet during class and choose to fill it later.
What to expect:
• All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided
• You’ll fabricate one Botanical Amulet to treasure or share with a loved one
• Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing; long hair should be tied back
• The class moves at a relaxed, guided pace with plenty of individual help
• Light snacks and drinks are welcome during breaks
No previous jewelry making experience is required to fully enjoy this class. It’s a welcoming, thoughtful way to spend time at the bench and create something truly personal.
