Southwest Studio Sessions: Ingot and Sand Casting

  • Meltdown Studio 901 Rio Grande Boulevard Northwest Suite E-130 Albuquerque, NM, 87104 United States (map)

We’re excited to continue our Southwest Studio Sessions, a series of immersive weekend workshops at Meltdown Studio led by guest artists from across the region.

Next up is a masterclass with silversmith Curtis Pete (@hopipete), known for his bold stamping and highly sought-after work. This is a rare chance to learn directly from his process.

In this hands-on class, you’ll create a substantial sterling silver ring from start to finish. You’ll melt and pour your own ingot, forge and stamp the band, then sand cast a focal element using one of Curtis Pete’s original designs.

Along the way, you’ll also gain insight into working thoughtfully with silver, building both technical skill and a deeper understanding of the material.
